About
Dj Sundance. Since promoting and organising the SAS's BALL dance
arena in 2006, as well as having his records chart in the top ten in
the USA's sound click dance charts, Sundance has had a busy and
successful 2007/08.His debut album ' We Believe ' was released through
American record label Andromeda Recordings and is available through all
download outlets.2009 is shaping up to be another good year with collaborations
with other top producers and a new live PA dance act in the making. ‘Mice
with Revolvers’ the name for the new act, should have new material out
by the Autumn. His new album ‘Showers of Gold’ will be out on release
by the end of the year through ‘Andromeda Recordings’ and will be available through all major download
sites.
Sundance is not only a rare DJ that produces his own brand of dance
music; Sundance is a class act with performance and showmanship. He
grew up in the dance scene running one of the South West of England’s
most successful and imaginative dance troops (FORBIDDEN RHYTHM).
Sundance and Forbidden Rhythm always make a huge impact on a crowd, be
it playing in front an audience of 6,000 at gigs such as Glastonbury or
Run to the Sun or for a more intimate show the likes of The Aquarium
(London) RG1 (Reading). Line-ups included names such as Tall Paul, John
Digweed, and Boy George. With Sundance behind the hallowed ones and
twos combining his knowledge of dance, performance and showmanship,
along with his own performers, you’ll have an explosive and dynamic
night. This is a DJ with a difference, style and sheik glam that’s
always professional and ready to give everybody a class uplifting
night. Before leaving Quantum Disk Records who released his first single
' WE BELIEVE ' which went straight into the US dance charts at #9 last
year, it won’t be long before the name Sundance is on every ones lips.
Sundance
I've been in the club scene professionally for about fifteen years,
starting out as a dancer, before moving over to DJing and producing. I
can remember putting on shows and thinking to myself this music is just
not doing it for the clubbers. Even as dancers we would have a hard
time keeping the energy going when the music wasn’t inspiring. I would
see people dancing to music they weren’t really into but continued
because of the named DJ playing and having to be seen as cool.
Educating people with new music is a good thing but when it just isn’t
inspirational then what’s the point? It was this frustration that got
me into DJing and choosing the kind of music that had the right vibe
groove and melody that would give people what they truly wanted. The
sort of music that would've had us, as dancers, full of energy. Coming
from this back ground I knew exactly what it was I was looking for.
Very quickly I was getting involved DJing in clubs through the contacts
Id built up through the years of dancing in clubs. Then I started
turning my attention to producing, and again very soon had my own
purpose built studio. So for me playing the right kind of music,
showmanship, dancing and above all having fun all goes hand in hand.
One without the other in my opinion doesn’t work, with this formula I
feel good and that transpires its self to the dance floor and the
people that are on it. The true release of spirit is through dance.
The Power of
Dreams
To anyone who ever had an idea turned down; who went back to the
drawing board after being told that it will never work; who could so
easily have given up, but kept persevering; who knew that failure was
just a part of the journey to success. A word of encouragement: keep
going, for there's only one thing greater than an idea and that's a
great idea. Do you believe in the power of dreams?
